Sometimes when God gives you a vision, it appears so big and you cannot wrap your head around why God will want to use someone like you. You see my dear, when God calls you, He is not checking your ability or if you have the skills, He is checking your faith in Him. Because it is by totally submitting and having faith in Christ that you make room for Him to show out and Show people who He is by using you as a vessel which means your life will also be full of glory.
The enemy might be wispering lies and making you feel small or telling you that you are a failure and your voice don’t matter but rebuke that foolishness because trust me, you were created for more and I am here to hold your hands and equip you to arise and become that more which God has called you to become.
When you fully understand a bit about self doubt, then you can start making plans on how you can defeat it forever.
Learn how doubt is affecting you. What is doubt making you miss out on that God has already released into your life.
If you don’t know how doubt shows up in your life, you would not know that you are going through self doubt. When this happens, you will just remain small and not arise to become that diamond God has called you to become.
It is clear that satan has been the god of this world long before you were born which means he is smarter and more cunning than anything you would have ever seen. Therefore once you are able to recognise the tactics of satan, you can then know what to do whenever he employs those tactics.
The bible was written for our benefits and what better way to learn about defeating self doubt than by looking through the scriptures. We would look at a few people from scripture who had doubt and how they were able to overcome and also what they went on to accomplish after defeating their self doubt.
There is no point of giving you theory without you knowing how to apply it into your life everyday. We are going to look at some practical ways you can defeat doubt so whenever it rears its ugly head up, you know exactly what to do so you overcome.
I grew up in a Christian family in Nigeria – my dad was a pastor and my mum was also active in ministry. Being married at a very young age and also active in ministry meant that they did not have time for me so I felt abandoned and lonely to say the least. Eventually, I just learnt to adapt to the various situations I found myself in. I went through so much growing up and the negative words that were spoken over me by my dad and other relatives affected me so much.
This was so bad that when it came to picking a secondary school, due to lack of self confidence and doubting myself, I changed my mind 7 times until due to the deadline, my dad picked ones he felt were okay for me. They were not necessarily what I would have wanted, however I felt like I had no choice in the matter. Due to that mentality and my upbringing, I constantly second guessed myself to even little things like what to wear if I was going out, what hairstyle looked good on me amongst others.
At age 16, God called me and gave me a vision but this was so big that just like Jonah I ran away from it, but the only difference is that I didn’t run from the presence of God but just from the assignment God gave me. I convinced myself that it was not God calling me because how would He send a 16 year old to such an overwhelming calling.
Many years later, God took me by the hand and I was finally able to overcome doubt and I am now able to do various things I would never have dreamt of doing previously. My self doubt is practically destroyed up to a point that a friend of mine will say “Ebbie, it’s so amazing you can just pack up and leave without looking back”. She was referring to my ability to move on from situations that don’t serve me and I would like to do the same for you.
Today I teach and mentor young women all across the globe to defeat doubt and arise like the queens they have been destined to be. God is calling you to come up higher and become the diamond that He put on the inside of you.
Sis, it is time for you to stop running away and Arise. Are you ready?
